What is salvation?
Salvation is the free gift of eternal life that is made possible only through Jesus Christ.John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Where is salvation found?
Jesus is the source of salvation and hope.John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Who can receive salvation?
Everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Saviour. It is granted only to those who are humble enough to receive it from Jesus Christ.Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Why do you need salvation?
Because it is the only way to get to Heaven. As sinners, we deserve death. We are all bound to Hell, unless we receive eternal life from Jesus Christ.John 3:3 - Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
Revelation 20:15 - And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
When can you receive salvation?
Now is the right time to accept Him. Not later, not tomorrow. Today, right now, is the best time because no one is sure of their future.2 Corinthians 6:2b - …Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Proverbs 27:1 - Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
James 4:14 - Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
How can you obtain salvation?
A receptive response to God's Word and a willingness to repent of one's sins is what is required of those who receive the salvation of Jesus Christ. In order for you to be saved, you must know the truths that the (King James Version) Bible says:I. All Men Are Sinners.
Adam and Eve committed the first sin in the Garden of Eden when they ate the fruit of the forbidden tree. Because of that, the curse of sin has passed on to all mankind. All are sinners in the sight of God. Some have sinned more and some have sinned less - but ALL have sinned.Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
I John 1:8 - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 - For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
Romans 5:12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
II. The Penalty of Sin is Death.
Sin must be paid for, and the Bible declares that the price is death. The Bible teaches that there are two deaths: the physical and the spiritual death.Just as physical death is separation of body from soul, spiritual death is eternal separation from God in Hell, which the Bible describes as a place of eternal fire, sufferings and torments.
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Revelation 20:14 – And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
John 3:36 – He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Romans 1:18 – For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Ezekiel 18:4b - …the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
III. Jesus Christ Was Crucified on the Cross to Pay for Our Sins.
Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. If He had not died, He could not have paid for our sins. Therefore, He chose to die, as a mortal man, in our stead, so that we could be saved. Jesus could not come to the earth as a mighty King if He was to die on the cross. Jesus needed to come to earth as a humble servant, but Jesus is equal with God because He is God. God came to the earth in the “form of God” and in the “fashion of a man.”The burial is also significant in that it verified that Jesus was in fact dead. Additionally, without a burial, Jesus would not have died “according to the Scriptures.” It symbolizes our sinful life being buried, us being cleansed and remitted from sin. And if He had not risen, then the sacrifice of Jesus Christ will be in vain, there would be no triumph over death and there would be no hope of eternal salvation for us. The resurrection of Jesus is a testimony to the resurrection of those who believed in Him, a resurrection to a new life. Jesus did this for you and me because He loves us and wanted to express that love to us.
He finished it all at the cross. The only thing we need to do is to believe in Him, and in what He did for us.
I Corinthians 15:3b-4 - …Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
I Corinthians 15:17 - And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
Hebrews 2:9 - But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Philippians 2:5-8 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Romans 6:3-5 - Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
IV. No One Can Save Himself.
Many people mistakenly think that doing good works or by simply being a good person will save himself. The Bible, however, says otherwise. We cannot save ourselves because we fell short of the glory of God. Therefore, we cannot say to God that our good deeds are good enough to get us to Heaven.God sent Jesus Christ to die for us. Some people also think that they can just die for the sake of others. This is also wrong. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can deliver us from Hell. Our nature is sinful nature. We cannot die for a sinner, let alone die for ourselves, because sin also runs in our blood. We are not clean. Only the sinless blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Titus 3;5,6 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Romans 3:20 - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Ephesians 2:8,9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 11:6 - And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Galatians 2:16 - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Hebrews 9:22 - Without shedding of blood is no remission.
Leviticus 17:11 - For the life of the flesh is in the blood.
I John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Isaiah 64:6 - But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
I Corinthians 15:19 - If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
V. Only Jesus Christ Saves.
Since the fall of men at the Garden of Eden, the favor of God left us. The only way we can reconnect to God is through His Son. Because of God’s love, Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross, died, was buried and rose again the third day. He paid the penalty for our sins that we must pay in Hell. This is the only way for us not to suffer in Hell. This proves that salvation cannot be attained by man by himself, but only by the grace of God. We must acknowledge that the only way to reach God is through Him.John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I Timothy 2:5 - For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Hebrews 7:25 - Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 10:10 - By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:19 - Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
John 10:9b - I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved…
John 12:46 - I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
John 8:24 - I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
John 6:51 - I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
I John 5:11 - And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
John 11:25-26b - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die….
Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
I Peter 1:18-19 - Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, …But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
VI. Men Are Saved Through Faith in Jesus Christ.
If good works cannot save us, then what will? Faith. Faith is belief with strong conviction; a complete trust; firm belief in something for which there may be no tangible proof. We can illustrate faith as oxygen. We cannot see, hear, touch or smell oxygen. But still, we believe that oxygen exists because it is what keeps us alive. Oxygen is much like faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot see, feel, hear, or smell Him, but we believe that He saves sinners.
Another example is the trust of a toddler to his dad. The child laughs without hesitation as his dad tosses him up in the air. He is not afraid because he knows that his dad will catch him as he falls.
We must have faith that Jesus Christ saves us and gives us everlasting life.
Acts 16:31 - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:18 - He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Galatians 3:26 - For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
John 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Romans 3:28 - Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
VII. The Prayer of Acceptance that Jesus Christ is our Saviour.
You must call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, believing on Him, and in his sacrifice for your sins. God is willing to forgive you if you will just trust Him as your Lord and Personal Saviour.Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.Ask Him now to save you by sincerely praying from your heart:
Dear God, I accept that I am a sinner who deserves to pay the penalty of my sin in Hell. But I trust that Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross to pay for my sins, and that He arose again on the third day. And now, I ask Him to come into my heart and be my Lord and Personal Saviour. Thank you for the gift of eternal life. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
VIII. Those Who Received Jesus Christ as Their Saviour Are Eternally Secured.
After you sincerely accepted Christ in your heart, you became a part of God’s family and an heir of His righteousness. You are born anew. The salvation, the eternal life that you received can never be lost. No one can take it away from you. And no one can take you away from God. You are now part of the family of God.2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, …
John 10:28 - And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Romans 8:17 - And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; …
